Chuck Liddell scored epic ‘Knockout of the Year’ in UFC legend vs legend rematch

Chuck Liddell demanded revenge on his largest UFC rivals 20 years ago and brutally folded him.

The UFC legend will always be remembered as one of the biggest stars that the promotion has ever seen and will also fall as one of the greatest light weights of all time.

Although the rivalry of Chuck Liddell with Tito Ortiz potentially is the biggest feud of his career, in what ended in Liddell, a brutal ko scored over Ortiz, he also had a long feud with former two -way world champion Randy Couture.

The first two collided in 2003 at UFC 43: Meltdown, and 'The Natural' scored a round three finish on 'The Iceman' and won the UFC Light Heavyweight title.

Chuck Liddell scored Brute Ko on Randy Couture during Epic Rematch

After his loss against Couture, Liddell bounced back from the loss with a victory over Alistair Overeem, followed by a loss to rampage Jackson.

But again, as he often did during his career, 'De Iceman' bounced back with back-to-back victories on the aforementioned Ortiz and Vernon White.

That earned him a rematch against couture for the UFC Light Heavyweight title in what became an incredible fight that ended in a knockout of the year.

For their Rematch, Liddell made a number of fighting changes, came up with a broader attitude and well prepared for the big shots of Couture.

Early Liddell had a great success that Couture came across when he came forward. Then, slightly less than halfway through the very first round, Liddell landed a huge right hand that folded couture on the ground.

'The Iceman' followed with a huge land attack, which brought 'the natural' cold.

The UFC legends arranged rivalry with a trilogy

A little less than a year later, while Liddell still ruled as the 205 pound champions, the two met again at UFC 57.

After defending his title against Jeremy Horn, the Californier quickly became the biggest star of the promotion.

And after he had again eliminated couture in their trilogy fight, 'The Iceman' confirmed himself as one of the greatest of all time at 205 pounds, ending his rivalry with 'The Natural'.
