
Argentinian Wonderkid Claudio Echeverri was officially unveiled by Manchester City, 13 months after he came to the club.
Echeverri, 19, agreed to join the City for £ 12.5 million in January of River Plate, but remained on loan in the club for a year.
The attacking midfielder, who is advertised in some circles as the 'Next Lionel Messi', made an impression on the Argentinian giants, 48 performances in the past two seasons, scored four goals and adds eight assists.
The stock of the 19-year-old rose further when he was the driving force during Argentina under the age of 20 to the final at the South American Championships in January.
Echeverri took care of the side and yielded six goals and registered three assists during the tournament.
Mail Sport reported on Monday how Echeverri would train with City for the first time this week before they may be involved in the FA Cup on Saturday against Plymouth.
And on Thursday City officially unveiled Echeverri to fans and announced that he was affiliated with Pep Guardiola for the first time with Pep Guardiola.
He will be in the city for the rest of the season before the club determines Echeverri's next steps.
After speaking his revelation, Echeverri, who wrote a contract until 2028, expressed his joy.
“I can't tell you how excited I am to be here in Manchester and finally be able to call myself a player in Manchester City,” he said.
'Football has been my life and my dream was to play for one of the best teams in Europe. Today I am closer to that dream.
'Manchester City is one of the best teams in the world. Not only they win trophies, they play the game so beautiful. They are an example for everyone – they show people how they can play football in the best way.
“My focus is now on working as hard as I can in the training to show the manager and his staff that I am good enough to be part of this team.”
City's director of Voetbal Txiki Begiristain added: 'Claudio is one of the best talents that have emerged from South America in recent years.
“We knew that as soon as we saw him play, we wanted him to become a player of Manchester City.
'There are all natural elements – his touch, technology, eye for goal and dribbling capacity. It is now our job to take those attributes and form Claudio in a world -class player.
“We will give him everything he needs to become the best he can be. If he works hard, listens to Pep and gives absolutely everything, I see no reason why he can't become a top player. '
Echeverri, who received his river plaque debut from former city substantial Martin Demichelis, also shone in the World Cup Under 17 in 2023 and scored five goals. This included a hat trick against Argentina's arch rivals Brazil.
City goes on Saturday in their FA Cup collision with Plymouth with Plymouth, Tottenham defeated 1-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday when Guardiola's side was back in the top four.
