The relationship between a football manager and a referee is often a tense and former official Mark Clattenburg has revealed a tense and bizarre exchange that he once had with Jurgen Klopp.
The duo did not always see an eye to eye in the Premier League when Klopp was in Liverpool, but this incident dates from German times in England.
In fact, the pair changed polite features after Clattenburg had organized a Champions League -similar play during the spell of Klopp as Borussia Dortmund -Baas in April 2014.
As one of the most experienced referees in England, Clattenburg was given the task with the quarterfinals first stage of Dortmund in Real Madrid-Die then lost them 3-0.
