‘Clout and clicks’… Dustin Poirier responds to Nate Diaz and Paddy Pimblett call outs

'The Diamond' wants to go out in style by taking a number of colleagues from the Vecht game.

Dustin Poirier has made it clear that he has only one or two fights left in MMA before hanging the gloves forever.

With one eye on retirement, the former UFC -interim light weight champion wants to ensure that he has these last few walks counted through his last few fights to be worth his great career.

That is why he focuses on some nice matchups against hunters that he regards of equal form instead of taking on a rising competition as he did when he was confronted with Benoit Saint-Denis in March in UFC 299.

Poirier recently said in an interview that Paddy Pimblett, for example, is not interesting for him in this last chapter of his career and 'The Baddy' has a bit back.

Paddy Pimblett and Nate Diaz Slate Dustin Poirier do not want to fight against 'The Baddy'

After Dustin Poirier said that his next fight will certainly not be against Liverpool's Paddy Pimblett, he received a response from a former rival.

If there is one fight that it is a pity that we have never seen 'The Diamond' during his incredible UFC career, it is a matchup with Stockton's Nate Diaz.

The two men were booked to see each other at UFC 230 in 2018, but the fight never flourished and since then there has been tension between them.

Diaz hit Poirier on Instagram and wrote about his story that Pimblett is better than him.

'The Baddy' eventually shared the same message and refers to Diaz as a “real G” while referring to how Poirier fought against Saint-Denis when he was in the ranking just a year ago.

'The Diamond' responded to both men in an Instagram post where he said they only use his name to generate newspaper heads, in which he once again stated that it is “only legends!”

Dustin Poirier will certainly be aware of an important matchup on UFC 313

Because of his legrish criteria, there are not many options for the last fighting of Dustin Poirier's career.

Two names that may fit into the account are linked to each other for a CO-Main event with five rounds at UFC 313 next month in Las Vegas.

Both Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker have received history with Poirier who have produced some of the best fights against the former interim champion in recent years.

While the winner of that fight may insist on a title shot, it would be very logical for Poirier to face both men in a rematch before hanging the gloves.
