Club mascot provokes opposition players, starts a figh, then does Ronaldo’s siu

A MASCOT managed to provoke fans, players and staff in a Brazilian top match yesterday.

Criciuma's tiger mascot played a major role in the clash between Criciuma and Corinthians.

The match, which ended in a 4-2 victory for Corinthians, descended into chaos as the home team's mascot began to excite the opponents.

The mascot was transferred to the Corinthians players on a stretcher as they were in the middle of a tense exchange with fans and stewards at half-time.

The fan conversations were reportedly the result of fights in the stands between Corinthians fans, with their team trailing 2–0 at half-time.

Video then showed the tiger emerging from the stretcher and walking away, apparently antagonizing the Corinthians players who began chasing the mascot.

Video footage was even captured of players pushing the mascot while another staff member kicked the costumed tiger.

The mascot appeared unfazed by the angry reaction they had caused as he ran towards the tunnel and mimicked Cristiano Ronaldo's famous 'siuu' celebration before leaving the pitch.

It is claimed that the mascot was sent away due to their behaviour, while Brazilian media also report that a ball boy was red carded for his involvement in the confrontations.

After the situation calmed down, Corinthians pulled off a great comeback in the second period.

Former Crystal Palace and Plymouth Argyle star Yannick Bolasie's two first-half goals were canceled out by a flurry of four from Corinthians.

Rodrigo Garro, Matheus Bidu and Yuri Alberto came up with the goods for Corinthians as they won their seventh league game on the rebound.

Corinthians, who have been a hotbed for Brazilian talent over the years, are now home to former Man Utd man Memphis Depay.

Notable Corinthians from the past include Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo Nazario and Alexandre Pato.
