Club World Cup: Chelsea and Man City fixture burden will not be eased by Premier League with no delay to season

The Premier League has told Chelsea and Manchester City that they are not allowed to postpone the start of the following season games to try to help them interrogate – and recover from – the extra matches they have to play in the FIFA Club World Cup van This summer.

The city is the most affected by the congestion of the calendar, because in the course of this season they can get an additional 11 games as a result of their involvement in the new international club competitions.

The FIFAs renewed and extended tournament runs for the first time in June and July of this year. The final of the Club World Cup is on July 13 – less than five weeks before the start of the new Premier League season on August 16.

City, just like the other British teams involved in the European competition, has already played two extra group matches in the Champions League this season, but after they had not automatically qualified for the knockout phase, they will become two more play Off matches for the last confronted 16.

The side of Pep Guardiola is guaranteed in the summer in the World Cup in the summer, with a possible four further competitions in the knockout phases when they go all the way to the final.

Although the Premier League is sympathetic to the issue and confirms that it has considered changing their luminaires, it is bronze that the problems are not – instead because of UEFA and FIFA that expand their competitions.

“We looked at it,” said Tony Scholes, Chief Football Officer of the Premier League.

“We have imposed this on this, especially by FIFA. So there is an element that says that, why would we adjust our competition if they have imposed a competition that we disagree with?

“The larger element, however, is that we just can't do it. The calendar is squeezed as much as it can be at the moment, and we can't afford a delay at the start of the season.”

What is the club world cup?

Before the refurbishment for the 2025 tournament, the Club World Cup took place every year in December and was disputed by the winners of continental club matches of all over the world.

The winners of the UEFA Champions League, for example, would participate every year in the tournament and compete against continental counterparts from South America (Conmebol), Asia (AFC), Africa (CAF), North -America (Concacaf) and Oceania (OFC (OFC (OFC (OFC (OFC (OFC (OFC (OFC (OFC OFC (OFC).

But then FIFA announced in December that the competition would be extended to 32 club teams and would take place every four years.

To replace the annual competition, an Intercontinental Cup is played annually and let the Champions League winner play in the final against a team that passes through intercontinental play-offs.

When is the World Cup 2025 Club?

The club World Cup takes place for 29 days in the summer of 2025.

The tournament starts on June 15, with last place on July 13.

What is the format of the Club World Cup?

The tournament format works exactly the same as the FIFA World Cup, only for clubs.

The 32 teams are divided into eight groups of four teams, with the top two teams in each group that qualify for the knockout phase.

The Last-16 Stage-De first single Knock-Ronde-Gaat then go to the quarterfinals, semi-final and then final. There is no play-off of third place between the two losing semi-final teams.
