Luka Modric will weigh his options to become a member of a new club after the FIFA Club World Cup this summer in the US.
Modric is preparing to bring the curtain down in the Spanish capital for 13 years after a call has been made not to extend his contract.
The 39-year-old had previously indicated his willingness to sign another annual extension, to play on his 40th birthday in September in Madrid and led Croatia at the 2026 World Cup.
However, a change is now forced, but Modric is expected to play at club level for at least more years to keep its World Cup target on the right track.
Modric spoke the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu-Mijigte for the last time when Real Madrid signed during the 2024/25 League season with a 2-0 win over Athletic Club.
Modric's professionalism means that he will not entertain club offers to the completion of the Club World Cup campaign from Real Madrid.
His contract rose at the end of June, but a special expansion has been applied for the competition, if Real Madrid makes the knockout phases in mid-July.
Only once that has been packed will Modric look at what comes in his great career.
According to reports from Diario AS, Modric has been set to receive offers from the Saudi Pro League and MLS.
A move to the US appeals more at Modric at this stage, and the Club World Cup could give him a taste of life in the US, and what to expect in a move to MLS.
Kevin De Bruyne and Thomas Muller are also on the MLS radar as summer -free transfer options, prior to the respective abnormalities from Manchester City and Bayern Munich, with destinations ranging from Chicago, Los Angeles and David Beckham's Inter Miami.
