Colby Covington attacks LeBron James, Jon Jones, Khamzat Chimaev, and more in wild rant ahead of UFC Tampa

This weekend at UFC Tampa, Colby Covington returns to action for the first time in just under a year when he takes on the rising Joaquin Buckley in the main event.

Last time out, Colby Covington once again fell short in an undisputed title fight, losing to Leon Edwards at UFC 296.

After his disappointing loss, 'Chaos' revealed that he broke his foot in the first round, and since then he has been recovering from the injury and waiting for the right time to return.

Colby Covington goes on the road for LeBron James and Jon Jones ahead of the comeback battle

The 36-year-old is one of the most outspoken fighters on the entire roster and ahead of his fight against 'Rocky' Edwards, he caused a lot of controversy when he spoke ill of Edwards' late father.

Despite the criticism he received for his distasteful comments, he has once again entered the UFC Tampa fight week and has taken shots at many different athletes, with basketball star LeBron James even catching stray animals.

“I'm going to start with this since I'm the man of the hour and the man of the show. I want to ask LeBron (James) what he means by “There's no party like a Diddy party.” I really want to You know,” Covington began last Wednesday at UFC Tampa media day.

Covington went on to continuously criticize LeBron, saying he's an “asshole” and that he hopes he gets locked up.

The former UFC interim welterweight champion then turned his attention to UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Covington and Jones have a long historical feud, dating back to their days in college.

Covington has always claimed that 'Bones' refuses to participate in the same events as him and that they are still separated.

“Jon has some fruity tendencies… This isn't a joke, he knows deep down I know his dark hidden secrets… Jon Jones is a disgrace to this earth, he's making a damn joke, yeah he beat Stipe (Miocic). First of all, respect to Stipe, he's a first responder… Shoutout to Stipe, he's the greatest heavyweight of all time.

“I don't think anything special about (Jones's) performance, I think Jon needs to stop dodging Tom Aspinall just like he's been dodging (Francis) Ngannou for years, he doesn't want to fight the guys he knows he can gonna get ass yelled at,” he continued.

Covington turns his attention to Khamzat Chimaev in an explicit rant

Next on Covington's list of victims was middleweight title contender, Khamzat Chimaev. 'Chaos' and 'Borz' have been linked several times since Chimaev's debut in 2020, but the fight never came to fruition.

The Chechen recently missed out on the 185-pound title when the promotion opted for a rematch between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland instead.

“Dude, he's an absolute bastard, the fact that he robbed all his fans is the most disgusting act I've ever seen in MMA. He and Khabib are just absolute fraudsters.

“As an MMA fighter, I don't think he's anything special. He was exposed in that fight with Gilbert Burns that he doesn't have good cardio. I thought (Kamaru) Usman beat him when they fought, I thought Usman beat him 2-1,” he stated.

Covington turns his attention to the task at hand and believes a win over Joaquin Buckley will put himself in the conversation for another welterweight title fight despite being 2-3 in his last five fights.

'My name is always in the title fight. I'm the biggest name in the sport, there are no stars in the division. They're a bunch of bums… I think after Saturday night I'll be next in line for the title,” he claimed.
