One UFC 318 star had cut off a number of choice words for Colby Covington after his striving for a fight against the controversial welter weight.
The former teammate of Covington-Foe Dustin Poirier will mark the most important attraction during Saturday's pay-per-view event, because the UFC returns to Louisiana for the first time in more than a decade.
Poirier will retire after the main event of UFC 318 and end his career with almost two decades by challenging Max Holloway for the BMF title in their trilogy fight.
Among those who are responsible for determining the stage for the third collision between 'The Diamond' and 'Blessed', it is always entertaining Kevin Holland. 'Trailblazer' must come relatively intatively undamaged by Daniel Rodriguez to retain his hope to break the record for most UFC fights alive in a calendar year.
But 'D-Rod' was not the preference of Holland after his Triumph previous time-out.
Kevin Holland shares a hilarious roast of Colby Covington after his callout fell on deaf ears
Holland submitted Vicente Luque on UFC 316 at the beginning of June, a result that so far came in his fourth fight of 2025 and marked his third victory. In the aftermath, 'Trailblazer' focused his sights on Covington and claimed at the press conference after the fight that their matchup would 'songs'.
But after having heard nothing in exchange 'chaos', who, instead, pursued a supportive lightweight competition Paddy Pimblett, Holland took a chance on the ex-interim champion during the UFC 318 Media Day.
“First, when he thought he could fight against Paddy and continue a weight class, he was 100 percent healthy,” said Holland. “As soon as they said my name, the vaginal muscle tore.
“So you know how that goes. Take about eight to 10 weeks to heal. Not a simple process.
“I thought it was a great call -out. Paddy has a great name,” Holland continued. “I used to fight in '85 and now I fight in '70. Colby is not such a good weight, so maybe he realizes that he should bring his ass to '55.”
Paddy Pimblett's thoughts about 'irrelevant' Colby Covington
Talk about Covington and Pimblett who established their apparent feud in the cage, came shortly after a heated fight backstage on UFC 314 in Miami. After Pimblett Michael Chandler defeated Dominant, he exchanged hooks with 'chaos' when the security intervened to split them up.
While tackling the incident at the UFC 314 press conference, 'The Baddy' made clear what he thinks of the polarizing American welter weight.
“Mr. Irrelevant, who tries to stay relevant,” said Pimblett. “He just came by, started chatting – because he saw that there was a camera.
'Come by, began to say:' Ah, you fight Scrubs. “He said something that is Chandler 2-4 or something is not (Covington) 2-4 in his last six?
“I saw him the other week at Power limp and walked past him. Stared at him and he just looked at the floor like the little P- boy he is,” Pimblett added. “If there is a camera there, he tries to say something. But he is tied up. We all absorbed him absolutely.”
