Cole Palmer celebrated the victory of the UEFA Conference League of Chelsea on FC Copenhagen by pretending to be drinking a beer.
The side of Enzo Maresca faced the Danish giants in the first stage of their last-16 draw in the European competition and won 2-1 thanks to goals from Reece James and Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea is overwhelming favorites for the Conference League and should continue to the quarter -final phase, although the late consolation of Gabriel Pereira at least held the draw for the second stage of next week at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer made his first start in the competition on Thursday, where the attacking midfielder from the Blues team was omitted for the competition phase after in both legs of their qualifying draw against Servette in August.
He set a solid representation in Denmark, but was unable to end his poor form of form that the 22-year-old now saw eight games in all competitions without a goal or assistance.
Palmer, however, went viral after Fernandez Chelsea placed 2-0 2-0 with 2-0.
While Fernandez was accompanied by his teammates – including Palmer – when he walked away to celebrate, a pint of beer was thrown on the field.
Ironically, Palmer picked up the plastic cup and turned to teammate Trevoh Chalobah before roasting the beer with the joke.
And Palmer's antics left fans in hysteria when they went to social media to greet the 22-year-old.
'Lift that beer high! You earn it all! Congratulations, “they said. Another added: “This is class I can't lie.”
A further fan joked: “Cole Palmer says:” Hold my beer “. “
Palmer's Dip comes in shape after he enjoyed a wonderful 18 months since he signed the Blues from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 for £ 42.5 million.
The attacking midfielder has scored 39 goals and added 21 assists, regularly added from the front at Stamford Bridge.
Despite his recent struggles, Palmer is still in the middle of a fantastic season with 20 target contributions in 27 Premier League matches, but it is not entirely as planned.
In the meantime, Chelsea -Baas Enzo Maresca was happy with the display on his part in Denmark, but was left frustrated by their late concession.
“Because it was a bit of a sloppy goal,” said the Italian. “We can avoid that. It's football, it can happen.
'Now 90 minutes are over and now we have 90 minutes more against them.
'The main match for us is the game of Sunday, at home and we need our fans for 100 minutes behind the team and pushing the team.
“If we can win against Leicester on Sunday, we can take another step to end in the Champions League … Top four or top five, I don't know.”
