Barcelona is expected to continue selling between now and the end of the summer transfer window, which will close in September. Pena is no longer a contract in less than 12 months and to prevent him from losing him for free, Barcelona now wants to cash in – what the player himself has accepted. According to the football Italia, Como Pena wants to struggle to compete for the starting goalkeeper spot, where head coach Cesc Fabregas gave the green light to ask an agreement with his former club.
Barcelona probably has a respective reimbursement to let Pena go, and given that they have not been shy with their expenses for the past 12-18 months, it would not be a surprise if Como corresponds to the valuation set.
The move would give Pena the opportunity to settle as a starting goalkeeper in a top competition, while Barcelona will benefit from the money that is brought in from a sale. The funds can be used to register more of the players they intend to register with La Liga at the end of the summer.
