Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are perhaps the two best players who ever play the game, and they are certainly at the top of the list in the modern era of football.
Kylian Mbappe has long been seen as the heir of their throne, broken as a teenager on stage and consistently played in every football level in the lead.
Now with 500 games under his belt, we have looked at how the Frenchman's statistics compare themselves with the two icons of the game at the same time in their career.
In terms of the minutes played, the figures are all quite similar – Mbappe achieved 500 games with 38,409 minutes, with Messi Vooruit at 39.181 and Ronaldo slightly behind him at 37,880.
Mbappe has so far been in the most powerful attacks of one of the trio-in Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and with France-with his team goals that are on 1074, just before Messis on 1070, and Way free of Ronaldo, down 846.
Mbappe also knew Ronaldo quite comfortably on goals that are scored by the player himself. The Frenchman's count is 362, while Ronaldo was on 243, and Messi again at the top of the metric, with 386. If the goals of Mbappe continues in his current rate, he becomes one of the best goal scorers in the history of the game when he retires.
The Frenchman is also just as skilled in helping so far, with his 145 assists only just defeated by Messi's 153, while Ronaldo was behind again, on 99 after 500 games.
General goals of the set piece have not been the friend of Mbappe to this point in his career. He never scored famous from a free kick, although he has 46 penal goals to his name.
At the same point, Ronaldo had scored 27 free kicks and 34 penalties, and Messi had taken 15 free-kick goals, along with a round 50 penalties.
If Mbappe were to add free kick goals to his play, he would become a better completed player. Main goals are also not a large part of his game – he only has 12, with 5ft5 in Messi two ahead on 14, while Ronaldo, with his athletic frame, was 38 by the time he had played 500 games.
Mbappe has clearly been the pivot of each side for which he played, with his goals and assists per-90 count at 1,336, which is just under Messis on 1,351, but for the 0.917 figure of Ronaldo.
Ronaldo made his relatively slower start in the middle part of his career and keeps making an impression, so Mbappe will have to do the same if he has to cement his status as one of the best attackers to play the game.
