Conceicao demands full focus as AC Milan aim to turnaround form

Sergio Conukicao called on his AC Milan side to stay focused from the start if they want to improve the results.

The hope of Milan to finish in the top four of Serie A, continues to decrease despite a good fight against Fiorentina in a 2-2 draw in San Siro, where she admitted twice in the first 10 minutes.

Malick Thiaw turned the ball into his own network in the seventh minute, while Moise Kean doubled the benefit of the visitors three minutes later.

But Tammy Abraham withdrew one halfway through the first half for Milan, while the Luka Jovic level leather saved a point for Conukicao's side in the second half.

Milan has now first admitted in each of their last six league matches and, although they have returned to win two of them, three defeats left ninth in the rankings in that period and nine points on the fourth placed Bologna.

After their draw with Fiorentina, Milan has now won 16 points of losing positions in the Serie A this season, more than any other side.

And for Friday's collision with Udinese, Conceicao called Milan to start as strongly as they finish them.

“You must have the attitude of the second half from the start, because games are won from the first minute to the last,” said Conceicao.

“It is important to be focused from the first minute, we talked a lot about this among us, because it is nothing new this season.

“We have often responded very well, but you can't always come back and win games.”

Conuicao has not been removed from making early substitutions, but he explained that this was not planned in advance.

“It seems like a contradiction, but I don't stand in a row to drop them off during the break,” he added.

“I think about how the games proceed and then try to manage or change to help the boys. Based on the feelings I have during the week, I choose the game plan, which may change, especially when we lag behind.”

After taking over Paulo Fonseca in December, Concukicao Milan had a form in their previously used 4-2-3-1, with many attacking means to choose from.

Although Jovic comes from the bank to score in the last two league games of Milan, Concukicao is not going to switch to a strike partner.

“The 4-4-2 is one of the formations that I like best, I have played there for many years,” said Conceicao.

“But we are not yet balanced and solid enough to play with two strikers, plus [Rafael] Leoo and Theo [Hernandez] those many attacks. You can even be offensive with a single striker. “

Conuicao misses defender Kyle Walker, who is out with an elbow fracture, for the Udinese match.

Santiago Gimenez, who was injured against Fiorentina, and midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who recovers from Appendicisis, will also be absent.
