Sergio Conukicao said he was not worried about his future as manager of AC Milan prior to their journey to combat Serie A Title Chasers Napoli on Sunday.
Milan is getting away in the ninth in the rankings, nine points on drift of the Champions League places on the way to the last nine games of their season.
Milan has indeed collected 47 points from their 29 games so far this campaign. Because the Italian top flight returned to a division of 20 teams in 2004-05, only Sampdoria ended the season in the top four position in 2009-10, after he had obtained the same number of points at this stage.
After lending the Rossoneri to the Supercoppa Italiana in the early stages of his office periods, Concukicao has difficulty replicating that success in the competition.
This season he won only six of his 12 games in the Serie A (D2 L4), with Italian media reports that suggest that Napoli's Antonio Conteaoo could replace in Milan if he could not deliver Champions League qualification.
“With Antonio I played against (him) like a player, him with Juventus and I in Lazio. As coaches it is the first time,” said Conceicao.
“We know what they are doing, which players are good. We are prepared for these principles, but watch our team, we will create problems for Napoli.
“We are ready and I like to challenge the best.
The 50-year-old added that he felt that he did not have to discuss his future with the Milan-Hierarchy, supervising back-to-back victories in the Serie A.
“I depend on the results and that's all. The next game is the most important thing,” said Conkeicao.
“I am here, I have a contract with AC Milan and I don't need anyone to tell me something more.”
Conuicao also believes that Milan has the quality to finish in the top four this season and to win the Coppa Italia, where they are confronted with Rivals Inter in the semi -final.
“The environment is good and healthy,” he said.
Milan is unbeaten in each of their last six road races (W3 D3) against Napoli in all competitions, and they never went on the road for seven consecutive games without defeat against them in their history.
But in the light of those conte -rumors, Conuacicao played comparisons between himself and the Napoli boss, who wants to win his fifth Serie A title this season.
“I don't need reassurance, I am here to do the best possible work … The comparison with Antonio is for this, the passion,” he said.
“In addition to the passion for football, we are passionate about life, football, family, friends. I see that Antonio is also a bit like that.
“The most important thing is Napoli Milan. I don't feel like the Portuguese conte.”
