Confirmed: Barcelona star no longer available for €60m

Barcelona wants to sell a number of first team players in the coming weeks, but the opportunities that one of them leaves has now fallen considerably.

Barcelona has to raise money and lower their wage account, to return to the 1: 1 rule of La Liga, with which new signing sessions for the new season can be registered. The will of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo have come to leave, but in the case of the latter he is now much closer to the club.

Earlier this year, ARAUJO signed a new contract with Barcelona, with U-Omomined on his decision to look for a move. And as part of that agreement, it would be a release clause for the first two weeks of the summer transfer window to be reduced to € 60 million, so that clubs are tempted to activate it. But in the end nobody was done, and as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, this has now disappeared.

The Araaujo release clause has now returned to € 1 billion, which means that every club that wants to sign him must negotiate with Barcelona. In turn, this means that an exit is less likely, especially in view of the fact that sports director Deco is determined to hold on to the Uruguayan defender, which he manages very high.

Barcelona wants to sell a center-back this summer, and if Araujo stays, this means that Andreas Christensen will probably leave. The Denmark International hardly played last season due to recurring injury problems and with only a year left of his current contract, his future looks uncertain.

So far, no concrete movements have been made by clubs interested in Christensen, but when they arrive, Barcelona is expected to give the light of a deal-on condition that their asking price is reached. However, there can still be problems, where the player himself has little interest in leaving.
