It has now been officially confirmed that Real Madrid will be without one of their most important players for the rest of the season, with the Spanish football federation ruling the fiery scenes that took place during the last phases of the Copa del Rey final in La Cartuja last weekend.
The Real Madrid -Dugout was furious about referee Ricardo de Burgos Bergoetxea to call an error against Kylian Mbappe in the last minute of extra time, and that eventually led to three players being sent. Antonio Rudiger tried to approach the civil servant in an aggressive way, and that led him to run the risk of an exhibited suspension.
And this is now confirmed, with Diario as stated that the disciplinary committee of the Federation has received a suspension of six games that will come into effect in all competitions.
According to the Burgo -Bengoetxea referee report, Rudiger was sent away for “throwing an object from the technical area without touching me. After he had shown the red card, he had to be stopped by different members of the coaching staff, who showed an aggressive attitude.” And the disciplinary committee has taken a vague vision, whereby the suspension excludes him for the rest of this season, as well as the first match of the 2025-26 campaign.
But Real Madrid has already preceded the suspension of Rudiger, since the German international has undergone an operation on his knee for the past 24 hours, which nevertheless ruled him out of operation to the club's World Cup.
Lucas Vazquez and Jude Bellingham were the other two players who were sent away on Saturday, and although the first received a suspension of two games that will only be active in the Copa del Rey, the English midfielder did not receive a ban because the committee ruled that he did not earn it to be sent. As a result, he can play against Celta Vigo this weekend.
