Barcelona had a helping hand last summer, where manager Hansi Flick called the services of Thiago Alcantara to get his new regime with the Catalan giants. It has been talking that the midfielder of the ex-liverpool and Bayern Munich could be on the way back to Barcelona.
Thiago spent a few weeks at Barcelona last summer during their pre -season, where Flick appreciated his insight into the inner operation of the club, his understanding of the style of the German and his ability to communicate in English, Spanish and German. For tax reasons, Thiago left the role as soon as the La Liga campaign of Barcelona started and returned to England. Youth coach Arnau Blanco was promoted for his own language skills to help Flick, Marcus Sorg and Toni Tapalovic, but remained part of the coaching staff.
According to ESPN, Thiago could be back to Barcelona. They say that the Catalan side will reach an agreement with the 34-year-old in the coming weeks. Part of the delay is due to Barcelona that must find space in their salary limit to add him to the coaching staff. He retains a strong relationship with Flick and the German manager confirmed that they will stay in contact last season.
That said, hours after that first report, MD contradicted the idea. They say that Flick did not explicitly ask Thiago to return, and that the former La Masia product would rather work in a capacity that does not entail complete involvement on the basis of day to day, in particular the avoidance of some of the traveling with the team. Their information is that Barcelona is not considering bringing Thiago back to the coaching staff, and they are happy with the setup as it is.
