Mike Perry keeps himself straight and narrow in an attempt to maximize his career opportunities and to avoid a 'career -spiral' such as Conor McGregor.
Perry and McGregor have a love-love relationship, in which the Irishman recently demands that he 'comes home' after a long absence. This despite the 'firing' of Perry when he lost to Jake Paul last year in a boxing match.
Now 'Platinum' wants to return to action, but he also focuses on his promotional work with a dirty boxing championship. The second full event of DBX takes place tomorrow night in the Hangar Miami; Friday, June 14. Tickets are available here and fans can watch live on YouTube here.
Mike Perry insists that he 'still has a job' at BKFC after Conor McGregor's 'Spiral'
Conor McGregor has not forced for more than four years and has since become more notorious for his parties. Mike Perry, on the other hand, has spent in recent years in a tradable star that goes much further than what would have been possible in the UFC.
“I certainly still have my job,” Perry laughed before I started a sarcastic Diatribe about the career of his rival. “He has made a great film. He has touched many bases in business and he has been everywhere, even about Cristiano Ronaldo on the Forbes list.
“You can't argue that and the man did incredible things. It was all his structure in his early UFC days that brought him so far. I had an incredible structure and I have many opportunities.
“I try to stay on course and focus. When my chances come, I will stay ready for them. I remain focused in order not to have the same spiral that he had in his career. I am sure that he will work on the right side of things and will try to build himself.”
Mike Perry would be open to Conor McGregor fight if possible
Perry and McGregor were back in 2023 after his victory over Eddie Alvarez, but of course the fight could not come true. The Irishman is locked up in the most lucrative contract of the UFC and is unable to fight elsewhere.
“We may never see him fighting again, but he says he wants that,” Perry explained. “He is still owned by the UFC, but he works and promotes BKFC. An incredible matchup is for me and Conor to fight in BKFC, perhaps he can get some practice in the ring one day.
“Otherwise he will not get any exercise and he thinks he can fight me in bare knuckle without ever having been there. At the moment those things are not happening, but I am looking forward to it and I am enthusiastic about it. Until then I am aimed at dirty boxing on June 14 in Miami.”
