After his victory at the UFC 229 -head card, Derrick Lewis shared what he would have done if he was in controversial headliner Conor McGregor's shoes.
Lewis, half of the upcoming UFC Nashville Main Event, is not short of height-reel moments on the largest stage in MMA. And from Lewis' record position from UFC Knockouts, not many of them can keep a candle for what happened in T-Mobile Arena in October 2018.
'The Black Beast' assembled an incredible comeback to prevent a certain defeat on the Scorecards on UFC 229, while Lewis Alexander Volkov eliminated in the last minute.
That wonderful result of the backlog was somewhat lost in the reporting after the event, while the community flowed to discuss the crushing victory of Khabib Nurmagomedov against Conor McGregor and the subsequent fight in the main event.
And even Lewis himself discussed the action by assessing the future of the Irishman after a devastating night at the office in Las Vegas.

Derrick Lewis told Conor McGregor to retire after a brutal loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov
After the face of Nurmagomedov and the dramatic fight that followed after the headliner of the UFC 229, Lewis thought about things during an interview with TMZ Sports.
In terms of the next steps of McGregor, 'The Black Beast' said that if he was in the shoes of the Dubliner, he would have been back and enjoy the lucrative fruits of his work until that time.
“SH-T, there is nothing that he can really do or prove,” Lewis told TMZ. “He earned more money than I would ever earn in this sport, so he would probably just have to sit his ass.
“I would,” Lewis added, when asked if McGregor should retire. “He earned life -changing money. He really doesn't have to fight.
“I just fight so that I can take care of my family. I am not just fighting because I love it so much. I fight because it is a job for me.
“(If I ever got the $ 50 million check), I am cutting family members, everyone, cutting everyone, I would probably even get a divorce.”
Conor McGregor has not held the advice of Derrick Lewis and has only had one victory since then
McGregor has not paid attention to the words of Lewis and others who advised a similar way of acting. And given what has happened since then, he might want him to do that.
'The Notorious' has since had only three fights in the seven years and lost twice.
After McGregor walked through Donald Cerrone in his comeback, the Irishman dropped back-to-back trips against Dustin Poirier.
His most recent loss against 'The Diamond' came in a horrible way after the former two-division UFC champion broke his leg at UFC 264 in July 2021.
McGregor has not participated since then and had canceled a planned collision with Michael Chandler in the summer of 2024.
