Conor McGregor insists he would continue to fight even if he wins Irish presidential election

Conor McGregor would like to hear his name announced as a hunter, even if he wins the Irish presidential election this year.

Former two-weight UFC champion McGregor seemed to point to a pension during a press conference on Thursday evening. But only a few moments later he stated that he wanted to return to the Octagon, almost especially when he defies the opportunities to become president.

A meeting with President Donald Trump of the United States seems to have kicked McGregor's political ambitions in a new equipment. He now regularly posts about his plans for Ireland and even admitted that he is 'happy with what he did' in his fighting career.

As is often the case, Conor McGregor's meeting with the media after BKFC in Florida immediately shot the Irishman in the headlines. He repeated his insistence that he would like to fight, despite the fact that 'something else' has now received his focus.

That something else is of course his ambition to become President of Ireland, which has become in overdrive since his meeting with President Donald Trump in the White House in the White House. But he surprisingly claimed that even winning the Irish elections would not prevent him from fighting again.

McGregor even claimed that it could further motivate him and told a reporter who asked if he could fight and at the same time could become president: “F – and of course I will be crazy? That is a part of why I want to do it!

“To be announced as the president of Ireland while fighting? Do you imagine. But for sure, hell yes, hell yes.”

For the past four years, McGregor has been out of operation after a broken leg in his UFC 264 trilogy with Dustin Poirier. He insists that he wants a comeback, but admitted that he recently rejected the opportunity to fight in Alcatraz because the offer was not worth enough.

And at one point during the press conference, he admitted that he is 'happy' with his performance in his MMA career while looking at a new ambition. “I have two fights on the contract, I am in negotiations,” he said.

“Last week something happened to me, I went to the White House and my heart is now bleeding in front of my country. So there are things going on, I am happy with what I have done. There is something else for me that is now in my opinion and that is a bit where I am going.”
