Conor McGregor loses $500,000 bet on Paddy Pimblett vs Michael Chandler after brutal KO prediction goes wrong

Conor McGregor lost another $ 500,000 when his bet at the Co-Main event of UFC 314 went wrong on Saturday evening.

The legendary world champion Two weight McGregor stood out a huge half million dollars on his old rival Michael Chandler to beat Paddy Pimblett in the penultimate fight of the night in Miami. He has long shown interest in the game, with both men his potential opponents when he ever returns.

McGregor coached Famous opposite Chandler on the 2023 season of the Ultimate Fighter, where both men each win in the final. But their planned UFC 303 fight last year was canceled due to a broken toe on behalf of the Irishman and still has to be rearranged.

Conor McGregor Paddy Pimblett Michael Chandler Result

Conor McGregor returned to the gambling world this weekend when he placed a monstrous $ 500,000 on Micheal Chandler to eliminate Paddy Pimblett in the Co-Main event of UFC 314. He even claimed that the result would be a “brutal ko” for the American in a daring prediction.

“The fight I am interested in, Michael Chandler vs Paddy Pimblett,” said McGregor in his X video that announced the bet. “I am going with Michael Chandler to win and win by KO. Although Paddy has improved in his last few trips, I am still looking forward to Chandler to do it.”

Unfortunately, it eventually went exactly in the opposite way when Pimblett brutalized and Chandler put in the third round. He conquered some early adversity to land a knee that opened the American in a horrible way before he landed a TKO finish on top.

Paddy Pimblett and Michael Chandler both responded to Conor McGregor Fight Interest

During the week, Conor McGregor stated his interest in the Co-Main event of UFC 314 and nodded to the fact that both Pimblett and Chandler are potential opponents for his return. He has not fought since 2021, but both men stay on his list of potential fights when he ever returns to the Octagon.

“Yes, I saw it, of course I sent it by a few people,” said Pimblet during Fight Week. “You know, I would welcome that fight, that's where the money is, but I can't watch Michael. I have to fight Michael on Saturday night and win the victory here, that's all that matters.”

Chandler was also asked and the press told: “I don't know for sure. I am sure he is watching. He is looking and he is very interested in coming back, but he can put together a training camp, that is the real question. We don't know.

“Everything I know is that you can see my actions, fight against Charles Oliveira in November and now fight five months later, Paddy Pimblett, put my ranking on the game, go out to face the unknown, I remain active.

“The first 26 months in the organization, I weighed six times, fought five times. Fight five times. Fight the night, fight of the year, debut of the year, knockout of the year. All I do is to fight great fighting and I do it for you and on Saturday night we will do it again.

“I don't really care what Conor Tweet, when he returns, we have to finish the Ultimate Fighter 31 and he will be impressed by my performance on Saturday evening.”
