Conor McGregor is hinting that he could make an announcement soon

Conor McGregor is known for his striking skills, with the Dubliner using his ferocious left hand to take the UFC by storm in two weight classes.

He's no slouch when it comes to the ground, however, as training footage of the 36-year-old recently hit the internet.

In the video, McGregor uses his knee to control his opponent before switching to an arm bar.

With the clip gaining popularity online, the fighter has uploaded a tweet breaking it all down and providing an update on his own career.

WOW: Jake Paul faces backlash after business partner suggests it would take a huge amount of money to get KSI to fight

He wrote: “Partner went for x-guard, but without control of my back leg I can step up and down into reverse knee to stomach with good balance and composure. I then insert my lead knee to completely block his hip, while also ensuring control of both his wrists. I now have both knees on my partner, resting his full weight on top of him, and no hands to fight. Very heavy.

“The position I'm in here too, not the typical knee to stomach, in the sense that I'm fully upright, allows me in MMA to have full torque for delivering the right finishing blows versus any style of rabbit punches (yuck) (boring ) (decision a**) ('Referee, please stop the fight, I'm hitting him, don't you see' lol) partner then goes to reach behind in a sort of 'Octopus guard' that takes the last time is gaining popularity, and for good That's why it is very effective to sweep / stand up, but I have a position and I clamp him on his shoulder while he tries. Clamping on the shoulder is very effective and underused, IMO.

“John Kavanagh has an extensive shoulder clamp system from the bottom position and we use it with great success at SBG. Almost everyone has reason to pause when the shoulder is clamped in this way. I then step back to avoid the legs, and switch to the arm bar, boom, done.

“I had a strong grip here. There may have been a last minute moment to release the shoulder from the clamp before going full arm bar, but I wouldn't have minded, I don't care about the arm bar, or sport jiu jitsu for that matter . Because what is my position? I am fully in a position to end the fight here. Upright and on top with full torque slamming down available to me.

“The human instinct in these cases is always to connect with the body. Essentially it's 'holding' or 'hugging', but abandon this instinct if you want KO victories.

“I'm looking for a KO finish. I remain standing, not connected to the frame, but completely above and on top. I have 19 KOs in professional MMA. People often claim that it is my left hand that has given me my KO victories, but as usual, 'People don't know anything about fighting'. It is the positioning, accuracy and ferocity of my followers. work that has brought me my KO victories.

“Take notes, please, because I'm bored watching right now, and that's the truth, and I'm not the only one saying that. Lee Hammond is who I train with here. We just flow, and it's not that deep. To play. Lee is a black belt under coach Kavanagh at SBG and recently appeared on TUF, where he was completely dominant against the eventual winner of the entire show until a lapse in concentration in the final round led him into an unusual guillotine submission position.

“His opponent went on to win the entire show in convincing fashion after getting up on the scorecards and cruising to a defeat against Lee. The first fighter in MMA to hit a berimbolo in professional MMA, Lee is an incredibly fast attacking jiu-jitsu and striking fighter.

“I've been training with Lee since he was a young teenager, and I was in my early twenties. I used to open John's gym on Sundays, by myself, and word got around that I would be doing this, and Lee and his friend would be the only other two to show up. I would spar with them for hours on end. We are still present today. Training is going great here guys, hoping for good news to come, God willing! Thank you for the support.”
