Conor McGregor told to ‘stop running’ from UFC comeback and long-awaited Nate Diaz trilogy

Conor McGregor has been told to 'stop running' and a third fight with Nate Diaz accepted by former world champion Jake Shields.

Diaz and former StrikeForce Middleweight Champion Shields have been best friends for years and were close teammates during the structure of his both McGregor fights of 2016. Despite the pair of 1-1, the two UFC legends have not been able to make a trilogy happen in the last decade.

Now Shields calls McGregor to 'stop AB —-' and finally the resentment fight for the last time. It has been years since both men were in the Achthoek, but it seems as if the Irishman is still far away from the competition.

Jake Shields calls for Conor McGregor to rematch Nate Diaz

It is four years since Conor McGregor last moisture in the UFC, and almost three won his last MMA fight since Nate Diaz. Since then, the latter has been used to boxing, while McGregor has been out of operation with various injuries and contract disputes.

Jake Shields spoke with Bloody Elbow in an exclusive chat on DBX 2 on Saturday evening and explained that he thinks it's the perfect comeback for both men. “I want to see Nate and Conor fight again, but Conor is AB–” Shields joked.

“Say to Conor to stop AB —-. If you are Irish, tell Conor then stop to stop Ab-, tell him step the F-High and fight against Nate. Stop running. Everyone wants to see Conor and Nate Bro, it is just like the Super Trilogy, the greatest trilogy of all time.

“Two F – Superstars, it's the fight that everyone wants to see, the F – Vecht Vecht UFC, stop being cheap and fighting.”

Conor McGregor has plagued pension in the midst of political ambitions

However, it seems that McGregor is not closer to a comeback than he has ever been. After he had withdrawn a fight with Michael Chandler last year, he recently claimed that he is happy with his legacy in the sport and that he is more concerned with his run for President of Ireland.

“I have two fights on the contract, I am in negotiations,” he told the press during a BKFC event earlier this year. “Last week something happened to me, I went to the White House and my heart is now bleeding for my country.

“So there are many things going on, I am happy with what I have done. There is something else for me that is now in my feeling and that is a kind of where I am going.”
