Conor McGregor vs KSI talks heat up as insider predicts crossover fight ‘will break records’

Conor McGregor's move to crossover boxing is a real possibility in 2025.

The former two-weight UFC champion recently sent shockwaves through the combat sports world by revealing he was in talks for a fight with YouTuber-turned-WWE star Logan Paul.

Rumors of a $500 million purse gathered momentum before 'The Maverick' appeared to end talk of a return to the boxing ring, where he previously competed three times for fights with Dillon Danis, Floyd Mayweather and KSI .

Logan Paul 'dedicated his life' to the WWE, leaving Conor McGregor in search of a new opponent as he looks to end his lengthy layoff dating back to July 2021.

Conor McGregor vs. KSI is real

KSI appears to be the frontrunner to face McGregor in his comeback fight.

Paul's PRIME business partner has a 4-1 (1NC) professional boxing record.

The 31-year-old Englishman is currently looking for someone to face in his first fight since suffering a controversial unanimous decision defeat to Tommy Fury in October 2023.

KSI recently claimed that the rumors of him boxing McGregor were more than rumors. Now Mams Taylor – Misfits Boxing guru and KSI's manager – has revealed that serious negotiations over the fight are currently taking place.

“Conversations are happening and conversations lead to more conversations,” Taylor told talkSPORT.

“I know [McGregor] is interested in a fact. I don't think any fight makes more sense than this fight for Conor.

“He was absolutely incredible in the days he fought Jose Aldo.

“He's a tough guy, he's a tough challenge for anyone and I think with the back and forth it makes sense.

“I think this will break records and be in the top five best-selling pay-per-views of all time.

“I think all parties are motivated by what it can do, they can both sell. There is also an underlying respect and contempt.

“I think it will be a huge, huge fight and I can't think of a fight that would be bigger in terms of numbers for Conor.”

“There are some complications and hurdles to overcome. But we are definitely going for it and I also think it is a stadium battle.”

KSI's plan for 2025 mapped out

Conor McGregor won't be the first man KSI fights this year.

The plan is for him to box three times in 2025. Against whom remains a mystery, but Taylor promises fans will get their money's worth with his star client.

He added: “KSI will fight three times this year.

“Fight 1 will be a big surprise and very interesting. Fight 2 and 3, if people are concerned, we'll take the same route as Jake…

“He won't be fighting retired MMA fighters, these will be serious opponents.

“It's going to be epic, and I can't wait to announce it all, but for now the focus will be on fight one and his huge comeback.”
