Copenhagen 1-2 Chelsea: Fernandez earns visitors slender first-leg advantage

Conference League favorites Chelsea have the advantage after the first stage of their last-16 draw against Copenhagen and earn a narrow 2-1 win in parks on Thursday.

Although Gabriel Pereira set up a nervy finish for the blues, the second half of Reece James and Enzo Fernandez was sufficient to win the victory.

Copenhagen made a clear start, in which Robert Sanchez Elias Achouri denied in the first four minutes, but the game then delayed, where Chelsea could not register a shot on goal in the first half.

A lightning -fast start of the second, however, saw control of the game while James met Marc Cucurella's cut to drive a long -distance attack in the back of the net, just 56 seconds after the restart.

The oblique strike by Viktor Claesson bounced a little later from the inside of the post, before Chelsea doubled their lead, Tyrique George founded replacement Fernandez to guide a finish.

Chelsea was caught in the 79th minute by a free kick when Pereira rose to direct Marcos Lopez's cross past Sanchez, but Copenhagen could not find a late equalizer.

Data debrief: as close when it comes

Despite the fact that Chelsea has an advantage of one goal in the second stage at Stamford Bridge with a few chances was even tighter than the score suggests.

Both teams had five shots, with two of those on goal, while Copenhagen just had the expected goals fights with 0.38 to Chelsea's 0.36.

While Chelsea dominated the property (62.4%), they were well matched to the last third part and Enzo Maresca will be looking for a much improved performance next Thursday.
