Cory Sandhagen trains with former UFC champ after knocking out both of his top teammates: ‘Not happy about it’

Cory Sandhagen is tipped to beat Merab Dvalishvili on UFC 320.

The #4 UFC Bantamweight -Medging was short in his last title option, a short -term fight against Petr Yan for the Interim title after champion Aljamain Sterling had withdrawn from UFC 267.

Sandhagen has reflected from the narrow decision loss for Yan by winning four of his last five fights, recently defeating former two -time champion Deiveson Figueiredo in UFC des Moines in May.

Now Sandhagen will demonstrably accept the largest bantamweight of all time, Merab Dvalishvili in the Co-Main event of UFC 320.

The style of DvalishVili is struggling and his cardio is considered the best in the UFC today. The champion is currently running on a 13-Fight win-streak, with victories over eight world champions.

The well -completed Sandhagen gets all the help he can for his first undisputed title fight in October.

Eddie Alvarez calls Cory Sandhagen 'the next champion' after training with him

Coached by Trevor Wittman, the brain behind the former pound-for-pound Koning Kamaru Usman and Justin Gaethje, Sandhagen recently received a different view of Eddie Alvarez's gym, the Newtown Performance Institute in Philadelphia, the home base of 'The Underground Kings'.

Alvarez is a former UFC and Bellator Lightweight Champion with victories over Rafael Dos Anjos, Anthony Pettis, Michael Chandler, Gilbert Melendez and much more. He was also the first hunter Die former BMF champion Gaethje Knock-Out and defeated in a 'fight-of-the-year' party 2017.

Alvarez knows everything about Sandhagen, while 'Sandman' has defeated some of his world champion training partners in the UFC.

“About six years ago, when he made his debut in the UFC. I didn't know that Lloyd was his agent at the time. But I called my agent right away, and hey, man. I don't know if you've ever seen this child, Cory Sandhagen, but I think he personally will be the next UFC champion,” Alvarez said in a video.

“He hasn't touched any gold yet, but he has fought against whom. UFC Hall of Famers and some of the best guys in the division now. He is supposed to take everyone. You don't choose opponents …

'What he is [done] So far UFC is nothing [short of] Amazing. He fought against my training partners. He has been excluded so far. I am not happy with it. He defeated Marlon Moraes, one of my good friends.

“He defeated Frankie Edgar, whom I consider as Frankie, a Hall of Famer, together with Raphael Assuncao.”

Sandhagen hit Edgar with a devastating flying knee in 2021 that made him sad after the fight. Sandhagen achieved former WSOF champion Marlon Moraes with a rotating wheel shovel the year before.

“The man is an absolute beast. I still feel in my heart, he will be the next UFC champion,” said Alvarez about Sandhagen.

How the rest of the camp of Cory Sandhagen is looking for Merab Dvalishvili

Alvarez is a striker, who works Sandhagen on his wrestling? For a long time training partner Justin Wetzell.

Once at the point of a UFC contract, Wetzell is now a PFL World Bantamweight Tournament finalist. The 12-2 hunter says he does everything he can do to simulate the style of the Dvalishvili champion.

“He has a great training partner in myself who will help him with Merab's style,” Wetzell told Bloody Elbow.

“When I am at the end, I know it will not be nice, because if you are there and close that reach, it is very good at attacking you. So after this tournament is over, I will go back to the gym and I will use my style to help him.

“In my opinion it is very similar to Merab, it has a high cardiobassis, a lot of struggling, a lot of mixing it. We push people against the cage and push the pace. That is my style.”

Sandhagen has given its insight into the beating of Dvalishvili and says about the Joe Rogan experience: “I'm going to deal with Merab with me, instead of having to deal with Merab.”

We will see how Sandhagen will be on UFC 320 on 4 October in Las Vegas, Nevada against Dvalishhvili.
