Inter was released this season for the Treble before he lost in the semi -final of Coppa Italia, the final of the Champions League and also surrendered the Scudetto to Napoli.
Cosmi said on Radio Rai: “Inter lived the last 40-45 days of their season in a diametral opposite way of what they had done before.
“Something unexpected happened. The allure of the treble? In my opinion it was not showing off by Inter, it was just a chance, at a certain point in the season even legitimate: objectively the championship was able to be won like the Coppa Italia and the Champions League devoured it in the best possible way.
“Then they were able to hold a series of non-results with naivety and a lack of clarity that brought them to the condition of life in the past month under a thousand fears, problems and difficulties.”
Barca defeat an illusion
Cosmi also said: “The double challenge with Barcelona was an illusion, because it then lay in the final, without strength, without energy.
“But above all everyone surprised the full lack of response.”
On the future of Intercoach Simone Inzaghi, Cosmi also said: “If Simone wants to respond to this terrible day, there are two solutions: responding with the team with which you came so close to something extraordinary and confirm yourself, or turn the page, which does not necessarily mean that you are going to Arabia.”
