Courtois ‘always available’ to help Alexander-Arnold, Huijsen at Real

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said he will always be available to help new signing sessions Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen acclimatize to life in the Bernabeu.

England defender Alexander-Arnold recently came to the club for £ 8 million from Liverpool, while the Spanish International Huijsen from Bournemouth drew for compensation that is supposed to be in the £ 50 million region.

Both players met their new teammates earlier this month after they have benefited from a unique transfer window that was designed to help teams participating in the renewed FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

And after the opening match of Real Madrid of the tournament against Saudi's Hilal, the former Chelsea goalkeeper admitted that he did not offer Alexander-Arnold or Huijsen specific advice, but he is “always available” if the need occurs.

“Of course (Alexander-Arnold) he is a very good friend of Jude (Bellingham), so I am sure Jude has already spoken to him enough,” he said FlashScore.

“But I clearly said that I am always available when he needs something, and the same with Dean, and so just try to help the new guys who settle well and immediately.

“Where we can help, we want to help. But that is everywhere you go. I think it's not something else.

“I think you are all a group of modest good people who we want to help our teammates to establish as quickly as possible,” he added.

Huijsen fully appreciated all the support he has received since the signing for the club and is happy that Alexander-Arnold had arrived at the same time that they aimed their first trophy for Los Blancos.

“He is a great guy and he is a great player. Everyone knows what he is capable of and it's great to have him here,” Huijsen told FlashScore.

“There is a really good group (at Real Madrid). You know that they are all really nice, helpful, modest guys and they are all willing to work hard – and we too, so we hope to help the team.”

Whether Alexander-Arnold could still be able to see the immediate impact of his new teammate Bellingham in Madrid or former man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay in Napoli, is still too viewed, with the 26-year-old who saves a careful tone.

“It's new to me, so it will take some time,” said Alexander-Arnold. “It is the first time I have moved clubs. Course will take a little time to get used to the players and the team.

“(But) to be honest, I have confident on a football field. I feel at home there.”
