But Coventry, who wore one -off dark blue shirts to raise money for a good cause, were six minutes later.

Ipswich gave up a cheap angle in not dealing with the cross of Jay Dasilva, and when Jack Rudoni sent the ball in Latibeadiere, he stood in front of his marker in the nearby post in his first goal of the season, which means that The new Ipswichgoaleker's first touch was to get the ball out of his net.

Coventry settled in the game and pushed ahead against an ippswich side that looked uncomfortable at the back, but the pace in the Ipswich attack was dangers every time they came forward and they were again in the front with 28 minutes.

Hirst ran to the left and pulled the ball back to Clarke, who showed good feet to shake off a few defenders before praising a shot in the bottom corner.

After Philogene Dovin had tested from Range Szmodics, just back from an ankle injury, went for the second time in the game and was forced when Nathan Broadhead came up.

The International Wales was almost immediately involved in the third of the city, took a bad pass from Luis Binks and shot it to Clarke, who kept home under pressure.

Coventry first threatened in the second half, with Palmer stretching to push the low shot of Tatsuhiro Sakamoto around the post and they stopped the pressure with a series of corners.

The hosts thought they had pulled one back just after the hour when the ball was tested by Brandon Thomas-Asante from the cross of Latibeadiere, but the flag stood for offside

Instead, Ipswich immediately went to the other side to score a decisive fourth. Clarke has twisted Latibeaudiere and then selfless square from the left for Philogene to shoot in his first goal since he had completed a relocation of £ 20 million from Aston Villa last month.
