Cristiano Ronaldo ‘urges Al-Nassr to raid Real Madrid for Arsenal target’ as 40-year-old’s club eye Saudi title bid

Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to see Real Madrid striker Rodrygo with him in Riyadh before the 2025-26 season.

Ronaldo recently signed a new contract with Al-Nassr, who finished third in the most recent edition of the Saudi Pro League.

In the meantime, Rodrygo has left for three years to walk his current deal in Madrid, but he is strongly connected to a summer deviation.

Arsenal was cited as his most likely destination if he left the Bernabeu, but Ronaldo would call al-Nassr instead.

According to Sky Sport, Al-Nassr Chiefs contacted the entourage of Rodrygo after Ronaldo selected the Brazilian as a priority goal.

Rodrygo, 24, has been with Madrid for six seasons and scored 68 goals in 269 games for the Spanish giants.

But he was only selected once as a starter in Madrid's first five games under the new manager Xabi Alonso, who is reportedly prepared to sell him this summer.

Arsenal and Al-Nassr are both on the market for attacking reinforcements.

Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Gunners Wideman Gabriel Martinelli is also supposed to be on Al-Nassr's shortlist of goals.

Diaz seems to stay in Anfield, while an Al-Nassr movement for Martinelli apparently would be much more likely if Rodrygo would move to North London.

Ronaldo, 40, has extended his Al-Nassr contract until June 2027. He hopes to win the Saudi Pro League title before that contract ends.

The former Star of Madrid and Manchester United has finished each of the last two Pro League campaigns with the Golden Boot.

Al-Nassr, however, ended 13 points behind Champions Al-Eittihad last season, with 12 points short of undefeated 2023-24 Table toppers al-Hilal a year earlier.
