According to TBR Football, after the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham, Alejandro Garnacho publicly expressed his frustration and wondered why the head coach held him on the couch.
Reports later emerged that Ruben Amorim told Garnacho for the entire team on Saturday to 'find a new club'. As a result, the Argentinian international was omitted from the United team for the last Premier League match of the season.
Peter Crouch spoke with TNT Sports prior to the United match to Aston Villa, said:
“I think he was completely undermining that interview after the game and completely undermined the manager's authority, was writing on the wall. You just can't talk about a Manchester United manager who tries to establish himself and earn the support of the fans. His comments not only questioned the coach's decisions.”
Crouch emphasized:
“Those comments completely undermined the authority of the manager. The head coach must immediately apply the check. If he does not deal with this early, the negativity will spread through the dressing room as a virus. Other players can follow the example and publicly complain, which is a railed one.
Crouch acknowledged that although Garnacho's public criticism was inappropriate, his worries were not completely unfounded. He added:
“To be honest, he could have taken a point. Amorim could have taken him earlier. The role of Mount in the final did not work tactically, and perhaps starting Garnacho would have been the better option – but those discussions should stay in the dressing room, not being broadcast in public.”
While tensions continue to rise, Garnacho now seems to leave Old Trafford. Reports suggest that Chelsea showed a strong interest in signing it during the transfer window of January, but did not complete the move. However, TBR Football now reports that Chelsea stays in contact with the agent of Garnacho and continues to explore a possible summer transfer.
