Crouch insists that Liverpool’s dominance could continue for ‘2 or 3 YEARS’

Peter Crouch has argued that Liverpool could be set for a period of total dominance in English football if they take a step for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

The Sweden International has been tipped on a large scale as the transfer of the coming summer transfer window after a sizzling season for goals for the Magpies.

Isak has scored 22 times in his 31 Premier League performances under Eddie Howe during the 2024-25 campaign and helped Newcastle to protect their historic Carabao Cup victory by offering one of the two goals needed to overcome Liverpool in Wembley.

But the future of the 25-year-old in St James' Park has been examined in recent months after discussions about a potential contract extension in the late fall have been demolished.

The attacker is currently contracted to stay in the club for another three years, but in the midst of his miraculous form of form, he has attracted the attention of a number of top European clubs, including Arsenal and Barcelona.

But former Reds-star Crouch Snel suggested a movement that was close to home in the discussion with fellow-England International Rio Ferdinand, who called the Premier League champions as his ideal destination for the striker.

“I am clearly biased, but I think that if he goes (to Liverpool), there is a period of dominance for the next two to three years with (Virgil) van Dijk and (Mohamed) Salah who signed that deals,” Crouch told Ferdinand on his Rio Ferdinand podcast.

Both Van Dijk and Salah have just expanded their conditions at Anfield in a boost of the club's prospects, with both players Lynchpins in the title -winning arrangement of Arne Slot.

“You also get Isak,” Crouch continued, “I don't think there is a club in that country that can be compared with that.”

Ferdinand was disgusting to agree that Crouch had mentioned his former club Manchester United as a potential competitor for the signature of Isak, which suggests that he was not sure whether “Liverpool got the capacity financially.”

But, Crouch argued, Liverpool had succeeded in getting similar deals over the line when pursuing top players.

“That is the situation of Alisson, Van Dijk,” Crouch added. 'See how successful they were, I think they went their best to get Van Dijk, and Alisson in the same way.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was protected by the Reds in 2018 for a record costs of £ 66 million, with Van Dijk signing a year earlier for £ 75 million from Premier League -rival Southampton.

For his part, Howe has tried to fight rumors away about the popping departure of Isak while the club is fighting to keep their star player.

“The (the future of Isak) is really linked to a number of other players – I think we should try to keep our best players,” Howe said in February. 'I think that is crucial for our success in the short term and our long -term success.

'So sitting here as a manager of the football club, I would say we have to keep the group together and we have to add the other way.
