Crystal Palace wants to recruit a new defender – as well as an attacker – after he agrees to sell Ebereechi to Arsenal, because they are also aware that the future of Marc Guehi will remain open
Crystal Palace has added Club Brugge Central Defender Joel Ordonez to their shortlist while they are preparing for a hectic finish to the summer transfer window. The Eagles have now agreed to sell attacker Ebereechi to Arsenal in a deal with a value of a maximum of £ 67.5 million including add-ons.
The Gunners pay an initial £ 60 million plus around £ 7.5 million in bonuses, the same value of the expired release clause from Eze. However, Steve Parish is also willing to listen to offers for Centrum -Back Marc Guehi because he is reluctant to lose the English international on a free transfer in 2026, however, Palace should take a replacement for Guehi – they also work hard to close a deal for Eze's successor – before they matched a deal. Liverpool has already held conversations for the 25-year-old and although Guehi wants a switch to Anfield, he remains relaxed about the situation and is still open to staying this season and looks the last year of his contract.
Palace had previously had a strong interest in the Ousmane Diomande of Sporting CP, but there was a considerable gap in appreciation after discussions with the Portuguese champions. It is still to be seen whether they are recovering those conversations, but a different name on their radar is Ecuador International Ordonez. The 21-year-old is a central defender with the right foot, who plays comfortably on the left side of a backline of three or four men. That is an appeal to the Eagles, which is assumed to have done research during Club-To Club discussions with Bruges for Forward Christos Tzolis. It is understood that Palace has seen an offer worth a maximum of £ 27.70 million (€ 32 million) for the ex-Norwich City-Vleugel player last week and the Belgian club stays that Tzolis is not for sale. Leicester's Bilal El Khannouss and Southampton's Tyler Dibbling remain live options, although Everton and Spurs are also at the table for the 19-year-old.
Bruges has already made countless controversial sales this summer and has midfielder Ardon Jashari on AC Milan, Maxim de Cuyper to Brighton and Chemsdine Talbi to Sunderland. But their attitude is that every player has a price and they expect to lose all summer all summer.
PSG was interested, but instead signed Illia Zabarnyi, Bournemouth and Roma also asked and Marseille got an approach, but conversations with the French club have stuck since then. Ordonez had urged Marseille to join Marseille and has now been out of the Bruges side while his future will remain open before the deadline.
The Eagles also love Burnley's Maxime Esteve, but the Frenchman recently wrote a new five -year -old deal with the Clarets.
Palace wants to strengthen Oliver Glasner's team with at least two new additions – defender and ahead – in the coming weeks while they are preparing to say goodbye to Eze.
He is expected to play against Fredrikstad in the play-off on Thursday before he will undergo his Arsenal Medical on Friday. If all goes well, he will be presented in the Emirates for the game against Leeds on Saturday and will start a full week of training with the Gunners next weekend.
