Curtis Blaydes experienced terrible symptoms of the norovirus
During the winter months, Norovirus spread around the US like a running fire, with a heavy impact on those who caught it.
Unfortunately, Curtis Blaydes sustained the vomiting and consequently they had to deal with the annoying symptoms that come next to it.
In an interview with Home of Fight, he explained: “I can't speak for everyone, but in my own experience it was about 12 hours P – – from my ass. It was rough and it was very drying out.
“It is not only diarrhea, it is also nausea, you throw over, you can't even hold a drop of water. It was not a good experience, and that is why I had to deposit the fight.
“I am not going to risk my ranking and inheritance and everything I have built up because I have a virus on the morning of the fight. So it was an easy decision for me.”
Curtis Blaydes says he will fight Rizvan Kuniev at UFC Azerbajan
It was a difficult few months for Blaydes, where the American lost to Tom Aspinall for the UFC -Interim title in July and then abused his big comeback last month.
However, it now seems that the match-up has been rearranged. Although reports have emerged that the collision will take place in Las Vegas, De Jager himself insists that it will fall in Azerbaijan.
He explained: “It is June 21, as far as I know. But it is the UFC, so it would be easy to switch. From now on I will prepare myself on June.”
And it is fair to say that he is not afraid to fight in enemy territory.
The grappler added: “It can't help you. If we fight in Chicago, it doesn't help me at all. I am not an emotional hunter, I am not angry, I am not hyped, I am rejecting. I have fought other guys in their backyard, I know from experience, it doesn't help you.”
