CWC descends into chaos as French and Brazilian fans brawl in the stands

Football fans remained astonished when fans of Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian side Botafogo were seen in the stands during their clubworld cup match.

The winners of the Champions League suffered a shock 1-0 defeat on Thursday, so that their hope for the next round came in the balance, despite their 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid on match day.

A first half goal of the Brazilian international Igor Jesus proved the difference between the ruling champions of Europe and South America in the Pasadena Rose Bowl.

PSG was tipped on a large scale as one of the hot favorites to win the new 32-team tournament after a stunning European campaign that culminated in their woven 5-0 win against Inter Milan in the Champions League final last month.

They had also not lost in a competition since 3 May and Luis Enrique took the opportunity to rotate his side in California. In particular, Goncalo Ramos started in the middle of Ousmane Dembele, who remains injured. However, the gamble did not pay.

But a dark cloud was thrown over the victory of Botafogo when their fans were seen who threw bumps into the stands in California – although it was unclear what the Melee caused.

In a video of 58 seconds shared on social media, a person in a Botafogo shirt was shown that bumps threw before more members of the crowd became involved.

Someone in a PSG shirt seemed to hit another supporter from behind, while a kind of bundle followed elsewhere in the stands, which had no individual seats – rather blocks of bank -like furniture.

More people who wore shirts from the European champions seemed to participate, with one person in black cheering.

There was a short period of divorce without bumps thrown into the two groups, before someone in a Botafogo strip approached a PSG fan and fell to the floor when more bumps were thrown.

The PSG supporter, who wore shorts and a Bandana, was then led away by someone else who was wearing the same comic.

That was until they were entangled in another scrap, who saw a Botafogo supporter blow a blow and then turned the other fan to get involved in screaming in the background.

A number of other supporters then stacked in, many fell into the stands, with one PSG fan that seem to stamp on a supporter.

The images end with people who run into the fight and a group trying to help a fan that lay between the rows up.

The last time a Champions League holders lost to a South -American side, came back in 2012, when Corinthian's Chelsea stunned in the final of the World Cup Club.

To prevent an elimination with a red face, PSG MLS-Outfit Seattle Sounders must beat that were beaten out of the tournament in their last group match.
