Damien Duff seen serving a touchline ban in a bizarre spot during Dublin derby

Former Chelsea star Damien Duff was seen to watch a competition from a bizarre location on Friday evening after he had a Touchline ban.

Duff, 46, was exiled before his side Shelbourne's trip to Dublin Rivals Bohemian in their competition of Ireland.

He took the lead of Shelbourne in November 2021 and led them to the title for the first time in 18 years last season.

The former midfielder of Chelsea was suspended after he had shown his fifth yellow card of the season last week during the victory of Shels over St Patrick's Athletic.

However, that did not prevent Duff from looking into action to his side while they fell to a 1-0 and completed the game with nine men.

Duff was seen in an unusual disguise that made him unrecognizable as he looked from a nearby hill.

Football fans joked to social media that his trick was an example of 'brilliant entetainment' of the man who also played for Blackburn Rovers, Fulham and Newcastle United during a long gaming career.

A user wrote: “Interesting point of view for Damien Duff in Dalymount Park.”

A second added: 'Possibly my favorite LOI photo of all time. Damien Duff Die his touchline ban serves during the visit of Shelbourne to Dalymount Park to take on Bohemians. '

Another joke: “Damien Duff in the Ghillie suit.”

A fourth noted: “Al iconic.”

A further comment was: “Say what you like about him, but this guy is brilliant entertainment.”

Defeat against Bohs leaves Shelbourne sixth in the League of Ireland table after 16 games and seven points drift from Tempo-Setters Shamrock Rovers.

They return to action on Monday 19 May, when they welcome Drogheda United in Tolka Park.
