Dana White claims post-fight UFC Seattle scrap involving Paige VanZant’s husband Austin Vanderford ‘was nothing’

Dana White has insisted that he will not distribute any further penalties after a post-fighter scrap in UFC Seattle.

The UFC boss was Cageide when Austin Vanderford marked his long-awaited UFC debut with a TKO victory on Nikolay Veretennikov. His wife Paige Vanzant was in the corner when he dominated two rounds before he finally finished the fight on the ground.

However, the real excitement came after the fight when the Ukrainian shot the Octagon to push his rival after the last bell. It led to a short scene that could have become ugly, if not for UFC security that split the pair.

Austin Vanderford vs Nikolay Vertennikov overshadowed by scrap after the fight

On the Prelim card for UFC Seattle, Austin Vanderford finally made his debut under the UFC banner. After the Undercard was decimated by cancellations, re -settlements and even the retirement of the legendary Bantam weight champion Dominick Cruz, he was called up for a notice period of just four days.

He imposed his will on struggling early after he had moved to 175LB, a catch that he thought was asked by his rival. He fought for middleweight gold in Bellator, but was always small in weight and he was now a run for the Welterweight title in the UFC.

He almost had an entry with two different arm triangular efforts in the first round, but was forced in the second. In the end it became much of the same, and while he was stuck the arm of his rival, he rained shots until the fight had stopped.

Dana White is insisting that UFC Seattle Post-Vecht scrap was 'nothing'

After the incident, it was compared to the issue that caused Paul Daley to be banned after UFC 113 when he hit Josh Kosh Check after their fight. He never returned to the Octagon, but it seems that White does not consider the incidents to be similar.

“Paul Daley hit Koshcheck in the face,” White replied when he asked about the similarities between the incidents. “Listen, ueah, it is never good if you pass and I don't know why he went after him, I understand that he was angry with the referee.

“If you look at that fight, when you look, I get why he was up. He blocked a lot from the shots, he tried to get away there. As soon as the fight was over, listen when a man makes some unanswered shots and lies on the ground [then I understand].

“He was defensive and moved, so I understand why he was upset. But you know how we are here, he went and pushed the man, what should we do? What Paul Daley did was completely different; You just had three rounds of five minutes to hit this guy in the face and you couldn't. “

'So you're going to hit this guy after the fight if he doesn't expect it? That's why that was done. He went to him and pushed him, we are not those guys … you should see what is happening [backstage] Here after the fighting.

'You would cry forever if you knew what happened. You would write all kinds of stories and “what are you going to do to them?” Believe me, that was nothing. “
