Dana White clarifies that UFC 317 backup fighter isn’t in line for the next lightweight title shot after making weight

The main event of UFC 317 will continue as planned after Friday's weighting.

There was one change that came about on the day before combat evening, in which Christopher Ewert was immediately cut out of the UFC after he had missed weight.

All four fighters involved in the two title fights on 28 June successfully hit the goal, in which Ilia Topuria proves his confidence by celebrating his team before he even stepped the Octagon.

There were some worries about Charles Oliveira, given that the Brazilian previously lost his lightweight title on the scales, but 'Do Bronx' had no problems this time.

The Back -Upjager for the main event also made the lightweight limit, which means that fans wonder whether this means that he will be the next challenger for the winner of the empty lightweight title.

Dana White says that Arman Tsarukyan has not earned a lightweight title shot by making weight as a backup hunter

In a recent interview with Helen Yee Sports, Dana White was asked about the current status of Arman Tsarukyan in the lightweight division.

The #1 content on 155 pounds made weight as an official backup hunter for the main event, but his services are not required.

Only a few hours before the UFC 311 movement, Tsarukyan withdrew from his lightweight title fight with Islam Makhachev because of a back injury.

Although back -up hunters are not guaranteed to be the next competition in line, although this has happened in the past, there were some people who wondered whether Tsarukyan would successfully strengthen his status as the next challenger.

White stated that although Tsarukyan will not be the next lightweight title challenge, this is still a positive update for the 28-year-old after his problems in January.

“No. It is a good step in the right direction, let's put it that way.”

Arman Tsarukyan said he is happy to be a back -up hunter next month to prove that he can make weight for the second time

During the UFC 317-way show, Arman Tsarukyan suggested that he is willing to be the backup hunter for another large lightweight collision that will take place next month.

UFC 318 sees Dustin Poirier Face Max Holloway in his pension fight without official backup that is still mentioned.

Then Hooker said that the UFC had asked him to fulfill this role, but his injuries prevented him from fighting on this date.

Tsarukyan, who apparently wants to show the UFC that his problems will not be a problem in the future prior to UFC 311, Sportnet said that he will be there if the UFC needs him.

Arman Tsarukyan told us on the weighing show that he is willing to make weight again within three weeks to be the backup for Poirier vs. Holloway to show that making weight is not a problem for him.

For the time being he will have to look from the sidelines while a new lightweight champion is crowned in the main event of UFC 317.
