Dana White comments on the opportunities of Justin Gaethje to fight for the title
Now at the age of 36 and with a lot of fighting mines on the clock, it is unclear how long Gaethje will fight.
Although, prior to his fight on UFC 313, Gaethje stated that he wants the next title shot, and his victory over 'Attaman' Fiziev probably places him in a decent place because he is still the number three ranked lightweight.
Current champion, Islam Makhachev has also mentioned Gaethje as an opponent that he would like to meet, with 'the highlight' as a long -term lightweight competition.
After the fight, the Arizonan again declared his desire to fight for the undisputed title, but admitted that he does not know what he wants.
“I don't know (what I want afterwards), we will see. I mean, of course I want to fight for the belt, it's a lot of different matchup than I just had, they tried to give me a donut, but I have to run again when I fight when I fight Makhachev, “Gaethje said at the Fight Press Conference Post.
Fortunately for the former interim light weight champion, his position as a potential number one competition was apparently supported by the UFC boss, Dana White, who commented on his chances of fighting for the title.
“I mean, what is he right now? Fourth or something, right? Third. There you go, he is still the number three arranged man in the world, so the chance that he will get the title shot is pretty good, “White revealed.
Justin Gaethje reveals the only fight in which he is no longer interested
With former UFC -Fedweight champion, Ilia Topuria may be the next one in line to take on Makhachev After recently plagued some big news, Gaethje can decide to fight.
He and Dustin Poirier have already shared the Octagon twice in two epic battles in the UFC history, both score one win and leave a potential trilogy open.
With Poirier it reveals that his next fight will be his pension fight, he has stated that Gaethje is his dream final opponent.
Nevertheless, 'the highlight' has admitted that he is not interested in that fight, because he believes that none of their families deserve to go through the pain of the first two fights again.
“No, I often said, I don't think one of our families deserves that we are 1-1, I think it's good if he is good with it, no, no, I don't think that is (will happen),” he went on.
