Dustin Poirier has the support of Dana White when it comes to his decision not to fight again after UFC 318.
Poirier took his last walk to the Octagon in Saturday's pay-per-view on Saturday, because he finished an MMA career that covered 18 years.
'The Diamond' ensured that his last act would fit in the cage for his last dance, where Poirier would wage war with Max Holloway in a fight that fought his BMF invoicing.
After the Louisianan falls short on the score cards, so Holloway did not fall to 0-6 over his two UFC trilogies, the 36-year-old put down his gloves and made his pension officer.

During his press conference Backstage on UFC 318, White responded to Poirier's last farewell in New Orleans.
In the past, White does not agree with two UFC legends who are retiring, in the conviction that both lightweight goat Kabibib Nurmagomedov and former two-division King Daniel Cormier had more to give.
But the UFC CEO shares that sentiment is not when it comes to 'the diamond', especially after seeing the way he went for his fellow people of Louisiana after a last war in the Octagon.
“You look at his last 11 fights and who he fought always comes to fight,” said White.
“I never wonder when a man says he wants to retire, other than I think Khabib and Cormier – the two boys I once said:” I don't know it's time. “
“That is completely up to him (Poirier),” White went on. “This is a rough sport. He fought a rough fight tonight. And the way in which tonight went, it seems to be the right thing to do.”

Nurmagomedov announced his retirement after beating Justin Gaethje in October 2020, with reference to his mother's wishes not to see him continue to compete without his deceased father present in his corner.
'The Eagle' is always stuck that his decision was final, but that did not stop White to try to lure the Dagestani back.
During an appearance on the Jim Rome show in 2022, White revealed another offer that he made to Nurmagomedov, which was quickly refused.
