Chael Sonnen gave tuf opponent $ 12,500 after his hunter had missed weight
Episode four were a little bit of controversy, including Irish Fighter Andreas Binder and his opponent Jeff Creighton.
Only one day before their fight, Binder made his coach, Sonnen, aware that he would be unable to make 170 pounds because he had ended all his weight and still weighed 176 pounds.
With the fight in Jeopardy, 'The Bad Guy' chose to call Cormier in an attempt to close a deal to allow him to agree with Creighton somehow, even though Binder is surprisingly overweight.
“This is a potential disaster, Dana White doesn't forgive guys who miss weight on the ultimate hunter,” said Sonnen.
“DC, it's Chael. We're going to miss the weight today … He is on 176 pounds, he can hold it, but he will not be able to lose anymore,” he went on.
Cormier admitted that he chose not allowed the fight to continue, because he did not want his hunter to fight 6 pounds heavier, but then Sonen brought compensation to the comparison.
“$ 1000 per LB and it will be brought to the weightings in a white envelope, he will have it today,” Sonen offered.
“Jeff, here is my pitch, we are not going to arrive, he is 176 pounds and it is ready, he is not an ounce lighter. You can pass on the competition … We offer you $ 1000 per lb missed, you give us 5 pounds, we give you $ 5000,” Negotiated Sonen.
Creighton came back with a $ 2500 counter offer per pound that then accepted Sonnen and handed him a white envelope with $ 12500 during the weightings.
Dana White responded after the fight changed to the brutal massacre
After accepting the money from Sonen, the fight went on and turned out to be one of the most brutal fights in the ultimate fighting history.
After controlling the majority of the first round, Binder was caught with a sharp elbow towards the end of the round that opened a huge cut on his forehead.
And when in round two, Creighton dominated him completely on the floor when he started leaking blood over the Octagon and covered both hunters from head to toe.
“The cut opens on the head of Andreas and that S – started spraying. Towards the end, both boys were covered with blood. Look how much this man bleeds. Look at all the blood on the mat,” said White.
After the extreme brutality of round two, the jury members Creighton considered the winner over two rounds and the fight was not brought to a third round, to the surprise of both Cormier and Sonnen, both of whom thought Binder won around one despite the suffering of the cut.
