Dana White says he has big plans for the UFC next year.
The MMA mogul addressed the assembled media members for the final time in 2024 after the UFC Tampa main event between Colby Covington and Joaquin Buckley ended in a disappointing doctor's stoppage due to a cut on 'Mayhem'
Dana White provided a positive update on a heavyweight unification fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, which he assured will “100 percent” take place in 2025.

Dana White's comment has UFC fans guessing
As he reflected on another highly successful year for MMA's premier promotion, the big boss delighted his fans by looking ahead to the next twelve months.
White teased a huge announcement while talking about upcoming fights. The UFC CEO didn't go into details, but he had a huge grin on his face as he claimed that what he's currently working on will blow everyone's mind.
“I expect a lot of big fights,” White said.
“I have something in the works right now that will drive y'all fucking crazy, y'all would just be running around.
“I have something in the works that you will never see coming before 2025, that literally started coming together last night.
“Yes, fun things are coming.”
Footage of White's comments quickly went viral on social media as fans tried to guess what he was talking about. For the most part, their predictions were a bit far-fetched, but everyone had fun making their crazy predictions.
One fan speculated: “4-man tournament for BMF belt.”
Another said: “Mike Tyson Jake Paul 2 in Power Slap.”
A third person commented: “Brock Lesnar vs Jon Jones hell in a cell with Conor McGregor vs Shane McMahon in the main event.”
Someone else joked: “UFC on Mars.”
Dana White disagrees with the shutdown of UFC Tampa
A cut to Covington's eye was deemed so bad that he could not continue fighting at the end of round three.
White was disappointed that his final main event of 2024 was called off early. Mainly because he felt that Covington could have continued if his fight with Buckley had taken place in Las Vegas, instead of Florida.
White said: “I was curious to see how it would go if it had lasted five laps. There's no doubt it was a bad cut, but that fight isn't stopped in Vegas – that fight continues in Vegas, 100 percent.
“Love him or hate him, the man is a dog, tough as nails, has taken big shots to the body, big shots to the head that would have knocked out a lot of people…Colby is durable and tough, but when If you get cut, anything can happen.
“It was definitely bothering him, and literally as soon as the corner would fix it, he'd wait to walk back out and rip it open again, causing it to start bleeding again.
“That alone says the cut bothered him a lot.”
