Dana White slams ‘insane’ omission from top 10 stars who ‘changed women’s MMA’ list

Dana White could not bite his tongue when ESPN left a legend of their list of WMMA pioneers.

To celebrate the history of female history, the official UFC's official employment partner shared a list of ladies who have broken 'stereotypes and MMA of women to unprecedented heights in the 21st century'.

The list of 10 people contained Holly Holm, Megumi Fujii, Miesha Tate, Zhang Weili, Rose Namajunas, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Valentina Shevchenko, Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes.

They are undoubtedly some of the greatest female hunters of all time, but Dana White believes that the list is missing someone.

Dana White stunned by the omission of Gina Carano

Gina Carano has left her mark on MMA, despite the fact that she only fought between 2006 and 2009 for three years.

The 7-1 hunter was a big star before switching to action after a COO loss for Cyborg.

Although she never fought in the UFC, White believes that Carano has done more than enough to earn a place on ESPN's list of women who have had a positive influence on MMA in the last 25 years.

“@Inajcarano who is not on the list is insane,” noted the UFC boss on the message from ESPN.

Former UFC jet hunter Josh Thomson was just as confused because Carano was chased.

He asked, “How is @inajcarano not on this list?”

Gina Carano responds to Snub

Carano appreciated it by being supported after he had been left of ESPN's list of great MMA women.

She tweeted: “You think @ESPNMMA: I don't have a qualified journalists who know real WMMA history or try to rewrite history by keeping me out? Even @danawhite has declared them.

“No, they will not rewrite my history. If something write in mine …

“When I get through this, I think Jaws will fall. Thank everyone for the support.”

The only hunter that Carano defeated followed in the footsteps of the white in the commentary section.

“You are an absolute legend,” Cyborg replied.

“The meaning that our struggle had and more importantly, the commercial success it proved, was capable of mixed martial arts for ladies, MMA's sport changed forever.

“I will be grateful for that chance and hope that one day it will be represented at the UFC Hall of Fame because of its importance.”
