Barcelona didn't do much business this summer, but after signing the player with the most goal contributions at Euro 2024, there was a feeling that signing Dani Olmo could help them make the leap to the next level. However, they did not make life easy for him.
Olmo can currently leave Barcelona for free if he wants to as there is a clause in his contract that allows him to terminate the deal if he is not registered. The Blaugrana cannot play him after missing the January deadline to increase their salary cap and register the Spanish playmaker, and had their leniency application rejected by the RFEF and La Liga. Barcelona now hope to have Olmo and teammate Pau Victor registered via a court order.
The 26-year-old has a host of top European clubs interested in offering him a new home, but MD says he remains committed to Barcelona and wants to stay at the club. He does not listen to offers from other parties and continues to hope that the club will resolve the matter through the courts.
That said, the events and uncertainty surrounding him have taken their toll on the player, and Olmo felt uncomfortable in the situation, with the uncertainty about his future also affecting his routine.
