Daniel Cormier makes a bold choice for who would be No. 1 after Max Holloway’s call for UFC BMF rankings

Talking about the BMF title is Rife after Max Holloway became the first to successfully defended it.

Holloway defeated Dustin Poirier on UFC 318 and withdrew one on 'The Diamond' to close their trilogy and to promote its current division title ambitions in the process.

Although 'blessed' has used his claim for a rematch with lightweight King Ilia Topuria, some have insisted on other matchups instead, including another defense against an always game Bralerer who believe many that a BMF fight, than hooker, is too late than hooker.

Although Holloway would be open to 'The Hangman', he believes that a BMF ranking system must be made to make potential contenders clearer for the symbolic belt.

“I think it's great, you have to work your way up,” said Holloway during his UFC 318 after the press conference after the fight. “So we can let them know. I mean, I don't say no to hooker then hooker, but I just say, we can please have a BMF ranking so that we can see it?

“Actually, I don't even know if it is UFC. Can we give the fans to do it? Because the rankings of UFC sleep everywhere.”

Daniel Cormier thinks that such a creation would not see a whore at the top of the stack …

Daniel Cormier chooses Charles Oliveira as the worthy best UFC BMF

During a recent episode of his good guy/bad guy show next to Chael Sonnen on the YouTube channel of ESPN MMA, Cormier gave his opinion on how the BMF title should be used and assessed for the symbolic bond to have a ranking.

'DC' made his choice for those who would surpass a BMF ranking, and called the former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira who is worthy of the number 1 place.

“Suppose there was a BMF ranking, all those guys you mentioned before (Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Arman Tsarukyan) would be admitted,” Cormier said. “But all those guys we mentioned may not be so active or so viable in their division.

“Charles Oliveira would be the number 1 arranged man in the BMF running. Charles would be. He would be number 1 in the BMF ranking.

“He is a BMF,” Cormier continued. “He is one of those guys that fits. You had Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje Fight, Max Holloway Fight for the Belt, Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal. Charles Oliveira fits in that rich of the world.

“He no longer fits in the (lightweight) title photo. I believe that this BMF title can really be something to hunt for those guys who were once the best in the world, and maybe they are not now, but they work back to that.

“Something that matters is at stake for them.”

Charles Oliveira wants his rematch against Max Holloway

Although it would undoubtedly be discussed by some who consider others worthy, Cormier's choice for the number 1 ranking list BMF would fit, given the recent comments from Oliveira about the rematching of Holloway.

After Oliveira was eliminated by Ilia Topuria on UFC 317, the Brazilian fan favorite did not last long to set his sights for another assignment for later this year.

Speaking for the victory of Holloway over Poirier, pointed 'Do Bronx' on a rematch with the BMF champion as his desired next fight.

“(Holloway) will fight in July, I fought in June. I think November would be time,” said Oliveira AG. Fight. “It would be a great fight. He said he would fight too, so why not?”

After 'blessed' had held the symbolic belt in New Orleans, perhaps a possible rematch with Oliveira BMF strikes could attach to it.
