Daniel Cormier played in a number of iconic fights during his time in the UFC.
The former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion was perhaps the best known for its smothering gripping style, but that did not stop 'DC' from having a few Barnburners.
The most iconic opponent of Cormier is perhaps Jon Jones, but he had a number of other memorable fights with people like Alexander Gustafsson, Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson and Stipe Miocic.
After his retirement, Cormier now plays a crucial role in the UFC as one of the most prominent commentators of the promotion, but before he had first entered the Octagon, 'DC' was a fan.
The UFC Hall of Famer recently called his favorite fight and it is one that will certainly rank on many lists.

Daniel Cormier calls 'Shogun' Rua vs Dan Henderson on UFC 139 as his favorite fight of all time
In a recent performance on the pound cast of Pound 4 Pound, Daniel Cormier was asked to call his favorite fight.
The answer quickly came to 'DC' when he thought about presence for one of the most iconic matchups in the UFC history.
On UFC 139, two former Pride legends who had also achieved success in the Octagon met for the first time.
Dan Henderson again signed with the promotion to cope with Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua in the main event after the heavyweight defending defense of Cain Velasquez was moved to another date by Junior Dos Santos.
The fight had absolutely everything with many who still believed that it is the greatest fight in the UFC history.
Henderson came as a victor after five war rounds, with the incredible battle being the fourth fight to enter the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.
Cormier remembered how after looking at the fight he continued to shake physically during his drive home.
“Favorite battle of all time? I looked at Dan Henderson and 'Shogun' in San Jose. First time they once did a five -round main event that was not a title fight. Bro, those guys went crazy in the Shark Tank. I drove for 30 minutes. I remember that I was driving home and I was just shaking.
Daniel Cormier said that this fight hesitated him to fight five rounds without a title on the line
After thinking about his experience at UFC 139, Daniel Cormier spoke about another important point with regard to the main event of UFC 139.
Although Dana White claimed that it would be the game of a number one in the light heavyweight division, there was no title on the line for Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua or Dan Henderson.
At the time, it was not a regular event to have non-title fights take place in five rounds as it is today.
Cormier said on the podcast that looking at this fight made him realize that he did not want to have the experience of fighting five rounds if there was no title for grabbing.
“They add two rounds to main events and it could be like that? I thought that day, I was like never wanted to fight five rounds unless I was fighting for a belt because that seemed like a championship effort without the reward at the end, but it was great.”
