The long -term rivalry of UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier with Jon Jones continues to add new chapters.
UFC Heavyweight Champion Jones is potentially weeks to return from to the Octagon against interim title holder Tom Aspinall in one of the biggest fights of 2025. But as the waiting continues with the return of Jones to De Kooi, one of his former Rivals shared a story from the APE APE of their all-time.
Jones and Daniel Cormier fought twice in their legendary careers, where Jones gets the upper hand of Cormier in both meetings. But Jones's second victory over Cormier was later ruled on a no-contest after failing a drug test in the USADA.
Years later, with Cormier at the UFC employment agency and Jones still compete, tensions remain strong between the two bitter rivals.

Daniel Cormier shares new story of Jon Jones UFC rivalry
In the structure of their two UFC collisions, Cormier repeatedly asked the character of Jones after countless setbacks outside the cage. Legal and personal problems derailed parts of Jones' Prime, and Cormier partyed with the possibility of operating his UFC rival as a lost cause.
During a pre-fight face-to-face interview prior to their planned fight on UFC 200, Cormier hinted to Jones's publicist 'Fighting a Losing Battle', a chance of Jones' struggles with substance abuse and other violations.
In a recent episode of Good Guy/Bad Guy with Chael Sonnen, Cormier shared how a conversation with the publicist of Jones almost tried his old rival.
“One time Jon and I were a fight, and I looked at his publicist and I pointed to her.” You have the worst job in history, I feel sorry for you! I am sorry the task of keeping this psychopath under control! ” Said Cormier. “And [Jon] Was there so angry with me. The only thing about Jon, Jon is not the best with his words … He just wanted to kill me.
“I could see it, in his mind, if he had a gun, he would shoot me. It was bad! Poor Gal.”
The feud of Jones and Cormier seemed to take a warm turn in recent years after pre-fighting media exchanges between the two former rivals. Cormier interviewed Jones during the UFC 309-way show, which led to a strong response from the UFC fan base.
Daniel Cormier and controversial UFC star Jabbed Jon Jones in Wrestlemania
UFC Welterweight Ster Colby Covington recently used Cormier to Jab Jones in an Instagram message. While Covington and Cormier attended WWE's Wrestlemania in Las Vegas last weekend, Covington called Cormier, and not Jones, the UFC goat.
Cormier has repeatedly excluded Jones from the UFC goat in favor of Khabib Nurmagomedov and other legendary names.
Despite some tension between Cormier and Jones, that did not stop Cormier from surprisingly defending Jones during different times in the career of the latter. This includes after a bizarre Instagram Live session through Jones went viral, in which he muttered about wanting to 'kill' someone.
Cormier and Jones will probably never be friends, but their bitter feud in the UFC Octagon is in the past. But the two legends will always be linked for one of the greatest rivalry in combat history.
