UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier had a rare moment of shock meeting a great boxer of all time.
Daniel Cormier won several UFC championships during his Hall of Fame career and became one of MMA's most beloved stars. Because of his success during and after his fighting career, he usually does not get an 'imposter syndrome' in the spotlight, but that changed for Cormier in UFC Mexico City.
UFC Mexico City contained wild knockouts, somewhat controversy and a high-octaan main event between two flight weight stars. Former UFC Flightweight Champion Brandon Moreno closed the evening with a largely dominant victory over Steve Erceg to strengthen his place in the title photo.
During the festivities of UFC Mexico City, Cormier got the chance to meet one of his childhood idols during the call.

Daniel Cormier felt like a child Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. In UFC Mexico City
Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. is considered boxing royalty after a legendary career in the ring. He is also a national hero in Mexico, as evidenced by the wild ovation he received while visiting UFC Mexico City.
When Chavez entered the Arena, Cormier had childish joy that the boxing legend met.
During a recent episode of Good Guy/Bad Guy with Chael Sonnen, Cormier explained what went through, Chavez met in UFC Mexico City.
“There are often times that I don't understand how, or why, a fan gets so excited to meet you. If they do that, I am always merciful, because I am lucky to have fans like we are all, we are people just. But because I have not been a fan for a while … we don't have that reaction. [at UFC Mexico City]”Cormier admitted.” It was the craziest thing … I was at the comment office and in walks Julio Cesar Chavez. Chavez comes in, the place is going crazy, Chavez is dressed on the nines and he is the man.
'Chavez comes in, I jump out of my chair, waves at him … I am seriously waving there with Chavez
Looks at me and goes “Hi!”, “Cormier continued.” And then he goes and asks the UFC to get a photo with me! I had no idea that he knew I was the champion … I waved like 'Cesar Chavez! Cesar Chavez! . ' I had an involuntary response to Julio Cesar Chavez. So fans, if you want to panic, I will never stop you again. Because I had that reaction! “Chavez ran away with UFC Flying weight Ronaldo Rodriguez for his fight in UFC Mexico City. Unfortunately, Chavez Rodriguez was unable to give his magic, as Rodriguez lost due to a unanimous decision for his first UFC defeat.
UFC Mexico City contained middleweight Francis Ngannou's amazing debut
The UFC Mexico City Prelims contained the middleweight debut of Ateba Gautier. If you don't know Gautier's faith, this is a good time to become familiar with his immense talent.
Gautier Crushed Jose Medina with a knee to earn the Walk-Off Knock-Out in his UFC debut. He earned a bonus after the fight and cemented himself as a middleweight to look at after displaying Dana White's Contender Series in September.
UFC Octagon -broadcaster Bruce Buffer had a rare blooper when he announced the incorrect winner of one of the UFC Mexico City Prelim fights. The mistake led Buffer to tackle speculation of an imminent pension from fans on social media.
As far as Cormier, the old saying 'does not meet your idols', do not apply when meeting Chavez, and the Mexican boxing legend continues to feel old souls.
