Darren Till's twelve-fight UFC career was only marred by his career-ending losses and some serious weight misses leading up to some of his welterweight fights.
Aptly nicknamed 'The Gorilla', Liverpool's Till carried his massive frame into the UFC's 170 lbs. welterweight division. At 6-foot-1, Till was about average height for the division, but because he was fat, cutting down to welterweight was always a struggle.
As a result, Till completed his MMA career as a middleweight, and has now ventured into boxing, where he will battle influencer boxer Anthony Taylor at 195 pounds. on January 18.

Darren Till shows off ripped body ahead of Misfits Boxing debut
Before he was booked against Taylor, Till was set to face Tommy Fury in what could have been one of the biggest paydays of his career. Even though that fight didn't happen, Till may still carry this “big money” mentality into the Taylor fight, evidenced by his ripped physique two weeks after the night.

Without further complications, this will be Till's first major fight since his last UFC fight against Dricus Du Plessis in December 2022. He fought once before in exhibition boxing in an unremarkable UAE bout against Mohammad Mutie in July 2024, which he won by injury in the second round.
Darren Till slams troll for mocking Misfits boxing match
In the comments on Till's post about physique, infamous MMA troll Dillon Danis shouted that Till had fallen from grace: “Six major events in the UFC to Anthony Taylor boxing,” he noted.
Till quickly responded, “Six main events in the UFC…say it again, my friend. Say the words in which your name will never be said besides… six important events in the place you cannot reach….”
