Napoli has withdrawn the race to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez because of a considerable gap in the appreciation between the two parties, according to reports.
The future of the Uruguayan seems to be more and more likely to be away from Anfield, with countless clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia likes to acquire the striker.
Earlier it was thought that Napoli was at the top of the stack and had negotiated a deal for the 26-year-old, who came to Liverpool from Benfica at Benfica in the summer of 2022, no less than £ 85 million.
The Serie A champions were supposed to be willing to pay £ 47.5 million to pay Nunez, who only made eight starts when Liverpool went to the Premier League title, to Naples.
But now, according to Sky in Italy, a deal can be considered and the side of Antonio Conte has chosen instead to sign the Udinese forward Lorenzo Lucca instead.
The Italian giants have agreed a loan agreement for the 24-year-old attacker, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
The movement opens the door for Saudi Pro League parties to make a peline for Nunez, with Al-Hilal now at the front of the queue.
Nunez struggled for minutes in Liverpool's triumphant campaign, in which they won their 20th League title – 10 points finished from second place Arsenal – where the striker scored only five goals and supplies three assists.
Both were the lowest long that he produced since he had been with Anfield three years ago, with lock who regularly preferred Luis Diaz in the number 9 -role.
And because Nunez will probably leave this summer, Liverpool is a mega-move for Alexander Isak from Newcastle. The Reds are willing to break their transfer record for the second time this summer to sign the Swede.
The Premier League champions have already made the statement of the summer by signing Florian Wirtz for £ 116 million, and are now willing to spend more than £ 125 million to land Isak if they get some encouragement.
Newcastle remains adamant that Isak is not for sale and wants to improve his £ 120,000 a week contract-a task that should have been done under the watch of the former director of Football Paul Mitchell. However, Talks got stuck earlier this year and no progress was made.
Isak is currently with the Newcastle team in Austria for a training camp and they want to improve their forward line by adding Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, their first offer is already far from the expectations of the Germans: they want € 100 million (£ 86 million) for the French International under 21.
Mail Sport understands that Newcastle has offered £ 70 million for Ekitike – a player in whom Liverpool also retains an interest – but the structure of what they have offered does not count what Frankfurt wants.
A striker is the most important priority of Liverpool this summer, regardless of whether Newcastle succeeds in werening their interest in Isak, who finished second behind Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot and scored 23 goals last season.
Apart from Isak and label, Liverpool discussed the Ollie Watkins and Yoane Wissa from Aston Villa, the Livewire Brentford Forward who came close to Arsenal in January.
In terms of expenditure, Liverpool rejected a proposal of £ 58.5 million for Diaz from Bayern Munich on Tuesday, because they retain their asking price of £ 86 million.
